In a Latin oration pronounced at the commencement lately at
Newark in New-Jersey, the following English lines were
introduced on the late defeat of the French at Lake-George.
There curst Canadia's motley savage herd,
With Hecatoms of faithless Frenchmen bled:
Old Gallic bands, there made their last campain
And drench'd in gore, lay welt'ring on the plain,
